Personal Profile

Prof. CHEN Lang is a Professor in the Department of Physics and the Director of the Analysis and Testing Center at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, in 2005. He served as an Assistant Professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from 2006 to 2013, before joining SUSTech in 2013. His research focuses on the frontiers of perovskite oxide functional materials, achieving innovative results in areas such as ferroelectric/multiferroic materials, materials with negative Poisson's ratio, high-dielectric/piezoelectric materials, and correlated electron systems (e.g., high-temperature superconductivity, 4d/5d oxides). He has published over 180 papers in prestigious international journals including Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, and Matter, with citations exceeding 7,000 and an h-index of 45. He has led numerous research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shenzhen's "Peacock Plan", and the National Key R&D Program of China, with cumulative funding of approximately 40 million RMB. Serves as a reviewer for more than 20 academic journals, including Nature family journals, PRL, AM, among others.
