Dr. Zhang Fucai is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, the group leader of the Shenzhen Free Electron Laser (S3FEL) Spectroscopy and Coherent Imaging (SCI) Station, and a senior member of OPTICA and IEEE. He has long been dedicated to research in computational imaging, coherent diffraction imaging, and holography. As one of the early scholars to conduct research on Ptychography, he has established a strong theoretical foundation and extensive experimental experience in this field. The coherent modulation imaging technology, independently proposed by him, effectively addresses the key scientific problem of non-uniqueness in traditional phase retrieval, significantly improving the performance of coherent diffraction imaging and expanding its application scope. Currently, he is committed to implementing these novel technologies in newly built large-scale light-source facilities in China (synchrotron X-ray facilities HEPS and HALF, and free-electron X-ray lasers SHINE) and electron microscopes, aiming to provide reliable characterization tools for scientists in biology and materials science. He has published some well-recognized papers in prestigious journals, including Light: Science & Applications, Nature Communications, and Physical Review Letters.
